Borneo International Kite Festival 2018 (BIKF) will be held in Bintulu from September 26 to 30.
The end of September turns the seaside open space of the Old Bintulu Airport into the perfect kite-flying field, with steady wind all day long.
The event is expected to bring in 400 kite-flyers this year from 25 countries.
The BIKF has made four records of magnitude number of kites flown since its inception in 2005, the latest being 2,500 diamond kites flown forming a 500 metre kite tunnel, which is included in the Malaysia Book of Records.
This family-fun event comes with it cultural and artiste performances in the evening. Make a day trip to Similajau National Park as a side-trip.
