Baleh Kapit Raft Safari 2020

KAPIT – The annual Baleh-Kapit Raft Safari 2020 will be a happening event in Kapit Town come April 3 to 5.

Marking its 25th year since its inaugural event in 1996, the safari take paddlers from Rumah Ansi, Nanga Sepajie at Sungai Majau, the starting point to Sarawak’s last frontier town of Kapit and along Malaysia’s longest river, the Rejang river.

Participants will get a chance to compete in five main categories namely Men’s Bamboo Open and Closed categories, Women’s Bamboo Open, Mixed Free Style and Paddle Boat

Organized by the Tourism Task Group (TTG) Kapit and Kapit Resident Office, the event celebrates the importance of river as an important mean of transportation in the past before roads were constructed.
